 Myriad Islands is a community map project that is planned to totally convert the entire map of San Andreas into a user-made paradise. It has entirely new land, some new cars and weapons, a completely fresh new mission script, and much more.

The development project started Illspirit in October 2003.  The original card game Grand Theft Auto Vice City was replaced by the two islands.  These islands are gradually built up by volunteers with GTAForums.com.  When on sale computer version of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas developers have begun to replace the San Andreas on homemade island. 

October 23 2003 at gtaforums.com Illspirit'om was created theme "Big Empty City" about the new global mod for Vice City there was opened for volunteers for "construction" game card.  November 2 2003 llspirit posted the first public version of the modification (0.02) having a base portion.  November 26 modification was renamed the "Myriad Islands" and gtaforums.com special section was created for developers.

Later the official website has been created (myriadislands.com) which has ceased to exist.  As the modification published an article in the July issue of PC Gamer magazine in 2004 under the title "Vice City dropouts".

The Myriad Islands used a unique model of development Game map is divided into lots each of which could be designated for one of developers.  Model cars and weapons as well distributed among modders "at will". Each item for testing laid out separately from the fashion (so-called beta lots).  Then lots were selected for quality bug fixes and final versions were added to the main assembly of the To set the mode used BWInstaller allowing you to install all the events in whole or in separate lots.
